How does it work

PDT is short for photodynamic therapy.
This innovative non-surgical procedure is performed in the doctor’s practice. It involves three simple steps:

  1. Simple preparation of the lesion.
  2. Application of a light activated cream to the lesion.
  3. Exposure of the lesion to special red light.

When exposed to the special red light, the abnormal cells in the lesions are destroyed.

Due to the non-invasive and selective nature of the treatment, the potential for scarring and side effects are minimised. 7-9, 12 Click here to see cosmetic results of PDT treatment.

PDT is performed in your doctor’s practice. Several lesions can be treated at the same time. Side effects such as redness and crusting are generally of mild to moderate intensity and usually resolve rapidly.

To find out if it’s appropriate for you, ask your doctor.
