Skin Cancer Prevention

Skin cancer can be prevented. Here are some of the sun protection measures:

  • Reduce exposure to sunlight between 10am and 2pm (11am to 3pm during daylight saving).
  • Slip on clothes that cover arms and legs
  • Wear a broad brimmed hat that gives shadow for face, neck and ears.
  • Slop on broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours
  • Wear close fitting sunglasses.
  • Seek shade whenever possible.
  • Avoid suntanning, using a solarium or getting sunburnt.

Most importantly, check your skin regularly for any new or unusual spots.
